"Innovation begins with Creativity" and we define Innovation as the successful implementation of the creative ideas. In this view creativity is the first and necessary thing for Innovation but not sufficient. Students' Activity Forum, Intellectual Property Rights Cell, IIT Roorkee is a student body dynamically involved in helping the students of IIT Roorkee generate innovative ideas, communicate new technologies and develop the skills that can make a difference between success and failure. SAF is focused on creating awareness among the students about Innovation and things pertaining to IP culture by means Lectures, Workshops, Technical Competitions, etc. It targets to create an environment of creativity where "CRAZY IDEAS" flourish. Most importantly, SAF also assists students in availing financial aid to transform an innovative idea into demonstrable model under the Technopreneurship Promotion Programme (TePP) of Department of Science and Industrial Research, Govt. of India. We believe- "The pursuit to excellence involves continuously exploring new ideas and exploiting them for sustainable growth".

Roorkee College of Pharmacy is approved by All India Council for technical Education (AICTE). the apex regulatory and statutory body responsible for B.Pharm course. RCP is also pproved by Pharmacy Council of India. CP is affiliated to UTU Dehradun, UA, for conduct of examination awards of degree. RCP is also recognied by Directorate of Technical Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand.

Over the years the Alumni family of IIT Roorkee (and its predecessor University of Roorkee/Thomson College) has been playing leadership role in almost all fields of engineering and technology in India and abroad. The Alumni Relations Cell was founded in the year 2012 with an aim to provide a connectivity link between the alumni and the Alma-Mater for betterment of all concerned. ARC is a student driven committee under overall supervision of the dean of Alumni Affairs.

"Kartavya is a Non-Governmental Organisation providing free and high quality education to underprivileged children living in slums and villages near college campuses. The whole management of the organization is handled by college students. Apart from two-hours evening tuitions to around 1200 children, they are admitted in good private schools for formal education. It was started by Mr. Amresh Mishra (presently IPS officer) in ISM Dhanbad. Now, it has centers in Dhanbad, Ranchi, Agra, Patna, Noida, and Alwar. IIT Roorkee students felt to do some work for underprivileged children. Kartavya has done fantastic work in this field. So, they collaborated with Kartvaya and started Kartavya Chapter on April 15, 2012. The village chosen to start the work is Padli Gujjar.
