Kasturba Medical College is a medical college based in Manipal, Udupi District Karnataka, India.Established by Dr T.M.A. Pai on 30 June 1953, KMC was the first private sector medical college in India. The college started with only the pre-clinical section at Manipal and the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. With the clinical program commenced at Manipal in 1969 with the setting up of Kasturba Hospital, it became a full-fledged independent college and Mangalore becoming a separate constituent college, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore.KMC Manipal ranks among the top 10 medical colleges in India today. Students from 44 countries have graduated from KMC, and the medical degree is recognized worldwide, including by the General Medical Council and ECFMG.Previously, KMC was under the purview of the Mangalore University. In 1993, the government of India granted Deemed University status to Manipal University which saw KMC coming under its wing.KMC has exchange programs with Loma Linda University, USA, Operation Eyesight Universal, Canada, Tayside University, Dundee and University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA.

Kasturba Hospital (KH), Manipal is an apex teaching hospital of the Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal under the aegis of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a deemed University. KH is situated near the west coast of India, 5 kms east of Udupi, the temple town of South India and lies 60 kms north of the port city of Mangalore and 325 kms south of Panaji, the capital of Goa. Besides meeting the health demands of the western region comprising Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala, its health care network extends to the areas of interior Karnataka, primarily through its satellite hospitals as well as unique health care centres. KastlJrba Hospital is recognized for treatment by Central and State Government, defense services and public sector companies. Kasturba Hospital is a 2032 bedded, speciality and super-speciality medical and surgical care centre.

China Valley is a speciality chinese restuarant located in Manipal. We came in to business in Nov 2006 and have now expanded the menu to include Italian and Indian dishes too.
