The idea is to conceptualize and design an all terrain vehicle and to compete with international counterparts at various events conducted by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). A team which can manage on its own a complete ATV design projects and self finance them, to start a legacy of such automotive R&D projects in our college which would put MIT on the national and global technical and automotive map. TMR took up its first project at the SAE-Mini Baja 2009 competition which was held in Wisconsin( USA ), June 2009 . After an overwhelming and successful first year, the team registered for SAE Baja New York 2010 on the 5th of October, 2009. The team had to design and fabricate an amphibious vehicle.

Manipal Pre-University College is a school/pre-university college. Manipal Pre-University College provides education to children from standard 6 to 2nd PUC. In 1936 T.M.A. Pai founded an elementary school at Manipal. In 1939 it was upgraded to a Higher Primary School and High School, and today is Manipal Pre-University College. It is also known as MJC (Manipal Junior College). many famous people like Yashwanth Devadiga Sujit Inamdar and Deviprasad Shetty have studied here from 1989 to 1992

Established in 1957 in Manipal, Karnataka, India, MIT is one of the first self-financed colleges in India.HistoryFoundation and early years (1957-1960)In 1957, T.M.A Pai conceived of the idea of establishing an engineering college in Manipal. The Manipal Engineering College (MEC) was inaugurated on 11 May 1957 by the then Chief Minister of Mysore, S. Nijalingappa. For a few initial months, lectures were held at the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal campus before the infrastructure was ready at its present campus towards the end of 1957. The institute started with 25 staff members and an annual intake of 120 students for the under-graduate courses, in a campus of 180 acres (0.73 km2).Growth and expansion (1961-1999)Civil engineering was the first discipline to be offered at the institute, but by 1961, full undergraduate programs were also available in the areas of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. Housing facilities were operational from 1961 for outstation students.

Twelve years ago, Dramanon was founded to address the need for a common platform where the diverse student body of Manipal meets to commune, express and share. Dramanon- Dramatist Anonymous, re-energized by R.K Shenoy, Professor of Architecture from Manipal Institute of Technology(MIT), is now a professional, English theatre group that operates out of three cities in India: Manipal, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Some of our extremely successful previous productions include The Cactus Flower, Man in the Bowler Hat, Lithuania, Comic Potential, The Mousetrap, Yes Minister, A year in the Death of Eddie Jester, The New York Story, Black Adder, Fools, The Good Doctor, Love Sex & the IRS, Witness for the Prosecution, That Darn Plot & Can't Pay! Won't Pay!, God's favorite. Dramanon also performed in the prestigious Samahaara Hyderabad Theatre Festival 2009 and Samahaara Hyderabad Theatre and Short Film Festival 2010 with the plays Neil Simon's The Good Doctor and Dario Fo's Can't Pay, Won't Pay respectively. Dramanon was touted by India Today as one of the emerging young English theatre troupes in India. Our alumni have received many accolades and awards such as the 'best actor award' from the eminent actor Om Puri at the Ayna theater festival 2012. On March 27, 2010, Dramanon celebrated its 10th anniversary by successfully staging COMIKAZE, a theater festival at Manipal and an increased demand led to a follow up with COMIKAZE 2 in 2011.

We are a young but successfully running club of MIT. The club has gained the stature of being the 'Official Automobile Club' of the college. Started by a group of automobile enthusiasts, the club has grown to involve people from almost all the branches, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Industrial Production, in the events. The club is also one of the fastest growing clubs of MIT in terms of participation in events and workshops.

School of Communication, Manipal Institute of Technology , is a school under the Manipal Institute of Technology that specializes in Mass Communication. It runs undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in media, communication and journalism. SOC, MIT is one of the leading media schools in the country. Started in 1997 with a postgraduate program, an undergraduate program was started in 2001, it was in response to the phenomenal expansion of media equipped with the latest communication technology, to train competent skillful professionals who are equally sensitive to social values.The courses in SOC aim at providing students with a high-level knowledge of the media and communication infrastructure in current Indian industry, and to enable professionals entering into the field with favorable experience and expertise in their area of specialization. An ex president of Prasar Bharathi, India.Situated close to the Manipal Press, the largest printing press in the private sector, the school building has a unique architectural style often studied by the students of the School of Architecture and Planning, Manipal Institute of Technology. SOC is equipped with an impressive library and a top-level sound and video lab with some of the most modern software and equipment in the industry.College Fest: Article 19Article 19 is the national level media fest of the institute, participant come from across the country, and also several celebrities, including actor Rahul Bose, ad man Prahlad Kakkar, Tehelka co-founder Annirudha Bahal and many more. It is held every year in the month of February.
