We are a group of art enthusiasts who enjoy working together on awesome pieces of art for the festivals Oasis ,and APOGEE, the grand cultural and technical festivals of BITS Pilani ,Pilani Campus. We make the stage shine with our beautiful backdrops, and awe-spire the festival visitors with our amazing structures. We also handle the online publicity of our college festivals to other colleges.

This a community of the people who are either studying in Rakesh Academy School or studied there or are associated in some form or other with the school. This is a small effort to bring all of us together and be in regular contact with each other

The school, the oldest Birla Institution in Pilani, the outcome of an experiment in education, was started as a PATHSHALA as early as in 1901, by the late Seth Shiv Narayanji Birla for the education of his grandsons late Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Birla and late Shri Rameshwar Dasji Birla. Raised to a true English Middle school in 1916, the school became a pioneer by extending the benefits of English education available to the people of Shekhawati and outlying areas as well. It rapidly grew into a HIGH SCHOOL (1925) and later on into an INTERMEDIATE COLLEGE (1928). The school was named as BIRLA HIGH SCHOOL in 1943, MULTIPURPOSE HIGHER SEC. SCHOOL in 1959 BIRLA HIGHER SEC. SCHOOL in 1973 and BIRLA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL in 1977. The BIRLA COLLEGE also in between came into existence in 1943 when University classes were separated from the school. The School has the rare distinction of celebrating its centenary in 2001. Its alumni list runs in tens of thousands and in some cases fourth generation of old alumni has come here as students. Our old boys have made their presence felt in various walks of life and have gained coveted positions not only in our country but all over the world. This is a testimony which amply demonstrates the quality of education the school has been imparting, inculcating the values and developing the creativity in our boys. The school has a proven and enviable track record in academics, co-curricular activities and holistic approach to education with emphasis on the fullest development of the potential and personality of a student with emotional intelligence (E Q) to enable him to be adaptive and successful in life with pleasure. A passion for quality and the spirit of excellence are the values which have brought the school to eminence.

MEA is the hub of professional activities of Mechanical Engineering students and staff. It conducts various events, paper presentations, workshops, lectures, quizzes, etc throughout the year as well as in APOGEE,annual technical festival of BITS Pilani.

Apart from repeatedly proving its worth at the recent technical fests of the college, CSA stands as a powerful learning platform with substantial inflow of senior guidance and mentor ship. The association has an open nature, thus allowing the convergence of Computer Science enthusiasts from all streams of study. CSA is noted for organizing series of lecture talks on various emerging technologies, quizzing and coding events around the year, in addition to a brilliant display of innovative and highly appreciated projects during APOGEE, the technical festival of the college. A number of events, in and off campus are hosted by CSA during APOGEE which are some of the biggest crowd pullers during the fest.

Rocktaves | Oasis 2013 – The Elements With Oasis 2013 – The Elements, the cultural festival of BITS Pilani, comes the embodiment of the element ‘Fire’ – Rocktaves, the annual semi-professional rock festival of BITS Pilani. Fire, in its form is radiance and fervour – the musical odyssey that is Rocktaves may well be its melodic counterpart. The competition, now in its 28th edition, is a major event of Oasis, alongside other musical events like the solo-guitar competition Rocktaves: Axetacy and the acoustic unplugged event Rocktaves: Unplugged. Rocktaves, without a doubt, is one of the most esteemed rock competitions in the country and endeavours to strengthen the fairly nascent Indian rock scene. Rocktaves is, in fact, responsible for launching some of the finest bands in the Indian rock scene today – Parikrama, Prestorika, Them Clones, The Superfuzz and Euphoria, to name a few. Last year’s prize money was valued at 1.8 lakh. Get a chance to battle it out with the best and make your tryst with the legend. Send us in at least two recorded entries and video links to your band’s performances, if any, at arbits@bits-oasis.org. Entries must be sent in before 11:59 PM, 30th September. RULES: • The competition consists of two rounds - Prelims and Finals. Bands will be shortlisted based on solely on the entries they have submitted, and will be called for the Prelims (held during Oasis, at BITS-Pilani in Pilani, Rajasthan). • Short listed bands will be informed well in time about the prelims schedule and must report at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. • Bands will get 25 minutes on stage (including sound check). • There will be no language restrictions on the entries. • No registration fees will be charged; accommodation will be provided. • The selection of teams will be the sole discretion of BITS-Pilani. • Professionals will be handling the judging of the event. • Professional sounds shall handle the event. Drum kits will be provided. • Any team violating any of the above rules is subject to direct elimination. • The final decision regarding any matter lies in the hands of the organizers and judges and is absolutely binding.
