Kerala School Teachers Association (KSTA) the largest and strongest movement has an important place in the history of Kerala. The movement raised slogans against imperialism and Feudalism during its period. Yi Trivandrum chapter was formed in 2009 and Mr. Vijay Kumar was the Chapter Chair and Alex Augustine was the Co-chair. Yi Trivandrum focusses more on learning initiatives and membership engagement activities. Alex Augustine is the Chapter Chair and Kishore George is the co-chair for the present year.

Padmanabhapuram Palace (Tamil: பத்மநாபபுரம் அரண்மனை,Malayalam: പത്മനാഭപുരം കൊട്ടാരം) complex is located in at Padmanabhapuram Fort, close to the town of Thuckalay in Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu, in India. It is about 20 km from Nagercoil, and about 50 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The palace complex is inside an old granite fortress around four kilometers long. The palace is located at the foot of the Veli Hills, which form a part of the Western Ghats. The river Valli flows nearby.[1] . The palace was constructed around 1601 CE by Iravi Varma Kulasekhara Perumal who ruled Travancore between 1592 CE and 1609 CE.It is believed that the Thai Kottaram was built in CE 1550. The maker of modern Travancore Anizham Thirunal Marthandavarma ( CE 1706 -1758 ) who ruled Travancore from CE1729 to 1758 rebuilt the palace in 1n around 1750. King Marthaanda Varma dedicated the kingdom to his family deity Sree Padmanabha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and ruled the kingdom as Padmanabha dasa or servant of Lord Padmanabha. Hence the name Padmanabhapuram or City of Lord Padmanabha. In the late 18th century,precisely in 1795 CE the capital of Travancore was shifted from here to Thiruvananthapuram, and the place lost its former glory. However, the palace complex continues to be one of the best examples of traditional Kerala architecture, and some portions of the sprawling complex are also the hallmark of traditional Kerala style architecture.

Amrithavarshini is a charitable society for a rare genetic disorder called OSTEOGENESIS IMPERFECTA (OI) commonly known as brittle bone disease. These patients have very fragile bones which can fracture at the slightest bump. We, at Amrithavarshini aim to better their lives and bring a smile on their face. We impact the lives of our children by making them self reliant by organizing and training them. At present we have over 60 gems under the care of Amrithavarshini, each unique and special in their own separate ways. Amrithavarshini is the sole charitable society working for the welfare of OI patients in kerala. At Amrithavarshini we believe that we can make a difference because It's after all one heart touching another one.. Osteogenesis Imperfecta is a rare among the rare genetic disease. Its main symptom is breaking of the bones in the body without any reason or due to any external force. The weakness in the muscular system, bending of the spinal cord, loss of hearing capacity are the other symptoms seen in a patient affected with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The cause of this disease is genetic mutations i.e. changes in the way the body is made. A child born with this disease will be bed-ridden and unable to move without the help of someone. People suffering from this disease deteriorate in health over time. To overcome the hardship suffered by these people, what is required is not sympathy or words of consolation; on the contrary it is the moral duty of all of us to create a self confidence in their mind and a feeling or an atmosphere that they are not isolated and there are people who are ready to help them.
