Thapar University, formerly Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, was founded in 1956 by Karam Chand Thapar and is situated in Patiala. It is among the top ranked engineering colleges of India, ranked best in Punjab and in top 20 at the All-India level. It is the first college in Punjab that started admitting students exclusively through Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main), hitherto called All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Mohindra College was the first institution in Punjab to receive A+ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the Government of India. The college offers undergraduate and graduate level education in basic sciences, political science, languages, history, public administration, commerce, computer applications, agriculture science, biotechnology and clinical diagnostics.

Budha Dal Public School was founded by the Chief of Budha Dal, Singh Sahib, Jathedar Baba Santa Singh Ji. The School was established on May 06, 1984. It started with 15 students and today has over 4600 students on its rolls. The School was upgraded to the +2 level in 1989 and is now, a full fledge Senior Secondary School. Presently, the School is being run by the Sikh Educational Society Shiromani Budha Dal.
