Subramaniyam who was a man with a vision to promote and help the various musicians in the city with their requirements and needs.This Musical Instrument Gallery was initially located near the Devanga High school, which is on the road to the famous Baba Complex Theaters in the city. Kalyani Musicals started with the motivation of servicing all the instruments and manufacturing of harmoniums.Mr.C.R. Subramaniyam was a very famous Harmonium player.He started performing at the age of 14 in dramas and stage performances. The well known musical Maestro Isaighani Ilayaraja is a best friend of C.R. Subramaniyam and even before Ilayaraja entered the Film Industry.He used to visit Kalyani Musicals quiet often to meet his friend. After the great work of Mr.C.R. Subramaniyam, his son Mr.S.Muthu kumar took over the responsibility of Kalyani Musicals and looked at improvising the service offerings to the musicians in the city of Coimbatore. Mr.S.Muthu kumar finished his B.com Degree and since then started implementing his ideas towards his shop from the year 1990 onwards. The fruit of his hard work has yielded him a new show room on the Mettupalayam main road, opposite Sanmuga Theatre and this first ever grand musical center was opened on July 10th2011.
