Students in the Navodaya Vidyalayas are admitted in Class-VI and provided education up to Class-XII. Now provision is made for lateral entry of students in Class-IX & XI also. The College is not a mere building - all concrete and iron, stone and bricks and mortar. It is much more than a material and physical reality; it was created by the devotion and zeal, the self-sacrifice and generosity of learned freedom fighter Late Pandit Ram Nirikshan Singh and later on by Late Pandit Atma Ram Mishra. The college was established with the aim of making higher education available to the students of this semi-urban area and thus equipping them for employment. Since its inception, the college has grown remarkably and through the various ramifications serving the cause of education in different ways. It has emerged as one of the premier co-educational institutions of the state of Bihar. The college compound is situated on 7 acres of land. The college offers two UG programs – B.A. and B.Sc. Both the degrees are offered as Honours. There are eleven departments in Arts (English, Hindi, Maithili, Sanskrit, Urdu, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science & Psychology) and five in Science (Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics & Zoology). In addition to these courses, the college also introduced three career oriented courses with the financial support of UGC. At present there are 25 permanent members in the teaching faculty. The administrative/technical staff consists of 36 members. Central Library, Sports facilities, a women’s hostel are the various support services and facilities available at the College.
