What is Trademark?
A Trademark is a sign that is used to distinguish the goods and services of one party from those
of others. A Trademark can be a letter, number, word, phrase, logo, graphic, shape, device, labels
or combination of these things.
Why register a Trademark?
A registered trademark entitles you to act against infringements. On the basis of trademark
rights, you can take action not only against identical and similar trademarks but also, on
certain conditions, against trade names and domain names. Trademark registration offers wide
protection.

What is a Patent?
A Patent is an intellectual property relating to inventions and is the grand of exclusive right
provided by the Government to the patentee, in exchange of full disclosure of his invention,
for excluding others, from making, using, selling, importing the patented product or process
producing that product for those purposes.
Why register a patent?
Patents provide incentives to individuals by offering them recognition for
their creativity and material reward for their marketable inventions. These incentives
encourage innovation, which assures that the quality of human life is continuously enhanced.
This is becomes a valuable business asset to the patentee. With a valid patent registration, you
can better protect your market position legally. You should register your patent to protect it
against unauthorized use by third parties, and it will entitle you to sue for infringement through
the courts. Patent registration adds value to your invention. Most investors, venture capitalists,
prospective partners or licensees are more willing to invest in your invention

What is copyright?
Copyright is a right given by the law to creators of artistic works, literary, dramatic, and musical,
producers of cinematograph films and sound recordings. In fact, it is a bundle of rights including,
inter alia, rights of reproduction, communication to the public, adaptation and translation of the
work. There could be slight variations in the composition of the rights depending on the work.
Why register a Copyright?
Copyright registration of the work is highly recommended; as registration is helpful in an
infringement suit. As per the Copyright Act, the Register of copyrights (where the details of the
work are entered on registration) is prima facie evidence in all courts.
