Institute of Technology, GGU, Bilaspur - CG
Institute of Technology, Guru Ghasidas University, also known as Guru Ghasidas Vishwa-vidyalaya and IT-GGV, is a public engineering institute located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India. It was established in 1997 as part of Guru Ghasidas University. Currently it has 7 departments. Originally meant to be a state government college, it started admitting students on a national level on the basis of ranks obtained AIEEE after GGU was taken up by Government of India to be upgraded to a Central University in 2009. The college currently provides 4-year undergraduate and 2-year postgraduate degrees in engineering.

Campus
IT-GGV is located at Koni, a village approximately 5 kilometres from Bilaspur. It functions as a university department within the university premises. Currently it operates out of two buildings, the old-IT building and the new-IT building. Since the college is situated within the university premises, it shares several facilities with other departments like Wi-Fi, Central library, Computer Centre, Auditorium etc. Hostel facilities are provided for both boys and girls. University buses regularly ply between Bilaspur and Koni to facilitate transportation of students living outside the university premises.
Faculty
With ever-improving teaching staff and decreasing ratio of students to teachers, this is one area where the college score lots of points.[citation needed]Teachers are all well qualified, with masters degrees from IITs, NITs and other prestigious institutions.[citation needed] The heads of various departments are vigilant and experienced.[citation needed] Faculty is always available for the students to guide or advise them.
Societies and clubs
There are a number of societies and clubs which have been created by the students under the guidance of the heads of their respective departments. They keep organizing quiz competitions, debate competitions, extempore competitions, programming events, IQ tests and many other events. The societies are as follows:

3. Mechanical/IP Club
4. ITIOC(IT branch) - ITIOC10
Events and co-curricular activities
"Kalrav" is the event organised by the sophomores every year to welcome the freshers to the college. Students also participate in the annual function of the university which is a very big event attended by various dignitaries. The college also has an English monthly,"Odyssey", which gives a report of all the happenings, and promotes the students by giving them a platform to write and express.
Students of the college are also active members of "Udaan", the University Magazine - The Panache. Students also participate in athletics and other sport events organised by the university and even represent the university in inter-university competitions. The college also has talented musicians, singers, writers and orators.[citation needed] The students also perform in "Tarang", musical events organised by students of the university.
