Dayalbagh Educational Institute or DEI is an educational institution located at Dayalbagh on the outskirts of the city of Agra, 200 kilometers from New Delhi. The institute has been given deemed university status by the University Grants Commission of India in 1981.HistoryFounded as a primary school in 1917, and becoming a technical college in 1927 for training in automobile, electrical and mechanical engineering, it later developed into a Deemed University. Lal Sahab, a former Vice Chancellor of the Lucknow University, founded the institution was also a director of DEI.The foundation of DEI goes back to 1917, with the foundation of Radhasoami Educational Institute. NIT Patna is the sixth oldest engineering college of India. Its origin can be traced to 1886 with the establishment of a survey training school and subsequent renaming it to Bihar College of Engineering in 1900. A graduate level curriculum was introduced in 1924. It was renamed Bihar College of Engineering in 1932. In 2004 the Government of India decided to upgrade the college to National Institute of Technology (NIT) status, as the state of Bihar had lost its only Regional Engineering College (REC), located at Jamshedpur, when Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar in 2000. By 2002, the Indian government decided to upgrade all RECs to NITs, with the aim of having at least one NIT per state. Bihar College of Engineering was the first institute to be directly upgraded to NIT status. In 2007, it was granted Institute of National Importance status in accordance with the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Mahatma Gandhi Setu (Hindi: महात्मा गाँधी सेतु), is a bridge over the river Ganges connecting Patna in the south to Hajipur in the north of Bihar. It was the longest river bridge in India at the time of its construction. It was inaugurated in May 1982 by the then Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Gandhi. Its length is 5,575 metres (18,291 ft) which makes it was one of the longest bridges in the world. There are 48 pilers to this bridge. Architecture:-This bridge was built by Gammon India Limited . It consists 46 spans of 121 metres (397 ft) each and 2 spans of 63 metres (207 ft) at each end. The deck provides for a 7.5 metres (25 ft) wide two lane roadway for IRC class 70 R loading with footpaths on either side.[3] The cantilever segmental construction method is adopted to construct this mega bridge. 650 million or 65 crore (at 1972 prices of India) rupees were spent on constructing this bridge.
