Army School Pathankot is being run by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), a body registered under the societies registration Act XXI of 1860 and functioning at Army Headquarters, NEW Delhi . The school is governed according to the rules and regulations for Army Schools, issued by AWES and approved by Army Headquarters. Prior to April 1982 the school was run by HQ 21 Sub Area as a Regimental Garrison school and designated as Army school Pathankot w.e.f.03 Apr 1982.Classes I to VII , Geo & Computers (jr) Labs are in re-appropriated buildings. Classes VIII to XII are in the building constructed by MES and was handed over to school in Oct 1997. Since then the Sr wing Classes are functional in the new building & Labs for Physics, Chemistry & Biology has been added to senior wing which were initially running in the reappropriated building. The school is affiliated as Senior Secondary School with CBSE. The first batch of X Std passed out in 1986 & that of XII std in 1988
