K. V. Mehsana made a beautiful beginning in the year 1980 with classes 1 to 5 with one section each. Today to tread the path of progress and achievement the school has classes 1 to 12 with an enrolment of more than 1100 students. It caters to the all round development of the students besides providing quality education. The vidyalaya gives due place to Co-Curricular activities including Cultural, literary, physical, social for grooming the entire personality of the child.
The Vidyalaya has a beautiful serene campus surrounded by environment friendly tall neem trees. There are pleasant lush green lawns and big playground with the childrens park.
It has well equipped science labs for higher secondary students and a junior science lab for middle and secondary school students. It has a 3 Computer Labs with 42 No. of computers along with latest technology of OHP and LCD.
The Vidyalaya has a rich library with more than 7000 books. More than 50 various periodicals and references covering all the subjects are subscribed. The Primary section consists of an activity room with VCR and OHP facilities to make teaching effective.
Due importance is given to indoor and outdoor games in order to provide proper grooming of the children. The Vidyalaya has big playground, adequate for outdoor games like basketball volleyball. There are regular weekly periods assigned in the timetable for each class for games. Apart from games, physical training is also given a due place in the schedule. Every Wednesday, there is Mass
P. T. period.
For cultural and sport activity, children are divided into four Houses. There are regular inter-house competitions. There is an annual calendar schedule for various literary competitions (debates, extempore, elocutions quiz, dance, group song, drama etc. Inter-school and regional completions are organised every year so that student get opportunity to display their talent, many a time school is a venue for such competitions.
There is a provision of hobby classes such as painting, handicraft, embroidery; martial arts, depending upon the aptitude and interest of the students. They are grouped in different groups and properly trained. These classes are conducted twice a week at expense of the school.
All the national days and festivals are celebrated with gaiety in order to develop the feeling of national integration amount the students. The annual sports day as well as annual day of the vidyalaya is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm. The Vidyalaya also has scouts and guides activities for which regular training is given and camps are arranged at the Vidyalaya and Regional level.
Children of the Vidyalaya also participate every year in Science and Social Science exhibitions held at Regional and National levels and bring laurels for the school. With various amenities, the school strives to inculcate right set of moral values in the children by giving them ample opportunities to channelize their skills and talents.
