Rotaract, founded in 1968 by Rotary International, is an organization of young people between the ages of 18 to 30. Today there are over 8,700 Rotary-supported Rotaract clubs with more than 200,000 members spanning 120 countries, making Rotaract one of the largest youth organizations in the world. Rotaract clubs, either community or university-based, provide an opportunity for young adults to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. Most Rotaract activities take place at the club level. Rotaract clubs hold formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members also get together for service projects, social events or professional/leadership development workshops. The calendar year for Rotaract goes from July 1 until June 30.

Hailakandi district

Hailakandi district was one of the 27 districts of Assam state in north-eastern India. It was constituted as a civil subdivision on 1 June 1869. Subsequently, it was upgraded to district in 1989, when it was split from Cachar district. As of 2011 it is the third least populous district of Assam , after Dima Hasao and Chirang.
