Sudeep (Kannada:ಸುದೀಪ್; born 2 September 1973) (popularly also called Kiccha Sudeep) is an Indian actor, director, producer,Guitarist and singer, who hails from Shimoga,[1] Karnataka. He stars primarily in Kannada films and is well-known in Sandalwood, Tollywood and Bollywood. Sudeep is known for his roles in the Kannada films Sparsha (1999), Huchha (2001), My Autograph (2006), Mussanje Maatu (2008), Just Math Mathalli(2010), Kempe Gowda (2011) , Only Vishnuvardhana (2011) and Eega (2012).[2] He has won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Kannada for three consecutive years and also won Karnataka State Award. He has also been awarded the entertainer of the year and Best actor for his movie Only Vishnuvardhana. Career [edit]Actor Sudeep started his acting career with a TV serial.Titled Premada Kadambari and directed by Sudhakar Bhandari, it was aired on Udaya TV. His first movie was Tayavva (his first two films O Kusuma Bale and Brahma were abandoned mid-filming); he then played a supporting role in the Sunil Kumar Desai-directed movie Prathyartha and landed a leading actor role in the same director's Sparsha. In 2001, Sudeep acted in the hit film Huchcha, which gave him his first big following. In the year 2008 he made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Phoonk.[3] He has also starred in Ram Gopal Varma's movies Rann, Phoonk 2 and Rakta Charitra. His movies Kempe Gowda and Only Vishnuvardhana released in 2011 were blockbusters.[4] His acting in the negative role in Telugu movie Eega directed by S.S. Rajamouli has made him enter the Telugu and Tamil Industries. Eega was a record hit at the Box Office. The university was established in the year 2008 by the government of Karnataka.[1] Davangere University is one of the youngest affiliating type of universities in Karnataka. It has Davangere and Chitradurga districts as its jurisdiction and is headquartered at Davangere. The city is located on National Highway-4 about 265 km from Bangalore, the state capital of Karnataka. Davangere became a separate district from 15 August 1997; before then, it was part of Chitradurga District. Davangere University was a post-graduate centre of the University of Mysore from 1979 to 1987 and functioned as a post-graduate centre of Kuvempu University from 1987 to 2009. Davangere University was established on 18 August 2009 out of Kuvempu University with a vision to meet the education aspirations of the people of the region. The main campus "Shivagangotri" is about 12 km from Davangere and 60 km from Chitadurga. Davangere University has revealed a distinctive academic profile, integrating excellence in higher education to fulfill the needs of the contemporary modern society and social ethnos of the region.
