Kanpur Central railway station holds the record for the largest route interlocking system in the world i.e.48 similar to New Delhi Railway station.Kanpur Central is busiest station of North Central Railways as the station records a traffic of more than 1.5 lakh passengers and more than 280 trains passing through here on a daily basis.Erstwhile Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had included Kanpur Central in '50 World-Class Railway Stations' in her budget.After figuring on the list of those railway stations that have to be made world-class, the Kanpur Central has started on a major revamp that is scheduled to take place in phases.Though the re-modelling of the Kanpur Central began a long time back, it is being developed gradually in phases. At present, the work in this direction is going on at snail's pace but senior NCR officials are hopeful of keeping their promise of giving a new, improved look to the Kanpur Central in the days to come.The present station was built in 1928, though the imposing building was completed in 1930.This building's construction is inspired by Lucknow's magnificent Charbagh NR railway station building which was built by British in 1914 but could not be constructed similar to Charbagh because it needed a huge amount of money.Deputy chief traffic manager Shivendra Shukla informed that the pending work at the railway overbridge will be taken up speedily.

Chhatarpur is an elevated station on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro. It is located in the Chhatarpur locality of the South West district of Delhi, India. Shree Adya Katyayani Shakti Peeth, popularly known as the Chhatarpur Temple is located near the station.The station was to be opened in June 2010, along with the other stations of the completely elevated corridor of the Yellow Line from Qutub Minar–HUDA City Centre. However, construction on the station was delayed due to land acquisition issues. To make the station operational before the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation adopted a special design to construct the Chhatarpur station, using pre-fabricated structures. The station was finally opened to public on August 26, 2010, being built in a record time of nine months. Chhatarpur is the only station in the Delhi Metro network to be made completely of steel.

The diesel loco shed set up in 1962, houses over 120 WDM-2 and WDM-3A diesel locomotives. The trains passing through Erode junction often have a long technical halt in order to carry out engine swapping and maintenance checks.

Kanpur Anwarganj is a railway station in Kanpur. It is the second largest station in Kanpur after Kanpur Central. It has three platforms. It was constructed during the British Raj. It has one big clock on its main building. It is on the Farrukhabad-Kanpur line. Until 2006 it was a metre gauge station. In 2006 Railway Minister Sri Lalu Prasad Yadav reopened the line as a broad gauge railway line towards Lucknow. The first station superintendent was Mr. V.N. Pandey. In 2008 a broad gauge line opened towards Mathura too.
