Young teachers is an initiative by the interested students of NIT Trichy to help the other students and create a structure in which the students help each other in academics and otherwise. We plan to create an environment where the students can learn, help others to learn and utilize their potential to its fullest. Thus each student shines and enlightens others around him/her thereby creating an institution that is one of its own kind. Here we would not only emphasize on students being good at their academic curriculum but also on students taking up inter disciplinary courses as the real world projects need to be dealt with the knowledge of more than one stream of engineering. To start off with we have had conducted courses on Basics of Programming for first year the last semester (2012 odd semester). Over 200 students benefited from the course. We as a team would like to proceed further and start various courses this semester and inch a step closer to our goal.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, OFT, Trichy was established in 1966. The Vidyalaya was started in Kimber Garden Trichy in Railway Buildings in 1969, later it was shifted to Ordnance Factory campus in the year 1970 and was functioning in a temporary building. Later OFT management allotted 14.99 Acres and KVS constructed permanent buildings n this area. A lease decd was entered between OFT and KVS and it was registered in Trichy. One section Primary school was started as a branch school near Trichy Fort Railway station in a temporary building and it has been functioning since 1971. The school Caters to the educational needs to transferable Central Government employees' children as per the admission guidelines laid down by KVS, an autonomous Organisation under the Ministry of Human Resources Development Governed by a Board of Governors under the Chairmanship of the Cabinet Minister HRD.
