Jalpaiguri Zilla School
Jalpaiguri Zilla School was established in 1876 during the British era. It is an esteemed educational institution of North Bengal and an establishment to be proud of. The red brick main building on the bank of River Teesta is a Land Mark of Jalpaiguri. It is a treasure base of West Bengal and has produced hundreds of good Statesmen for the Country and the World so far.
The culture of North Bengal, the greenery of rain forests of Jalpaiguri dooars, proximity of a mighty river Teesta just along side, Lush green paddy fields close by, proximity of Tea Gardens and views of snow capped Himalayan Range including Kanchenjunga has made it a ideal location for grooming young brains to matured Statesmen.
Jalpaiguri has occupied a special position in the History of Bengal as well as India. It has so far produced best of Freedom fighters, Statesmen, Industrialists, Educationists, Philanthropists, Doctors, Engineers, Teachers, Poets, Artists and Sportsmen for the Country and the back bone for most of them was Jalpaiguri Zilla School.
