Rohtak- The Emerging Indian City

Michael Witzel believes that the city's name is of Indo-Aryan origin and is recorded in the Vedas. He traces the development of the name as being "Rohītaka-kula > Rohitaka > Rohtek" and notes that this accords with the place existing around 500 BC
