St. Xavier's Collegiate School (informally SXCS) is a boys-only independent day school in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was founded in 1860 by the Jesuits and it is named after St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit saint of the 16th century, who travelled to India. The school completed its Sesquicentennial year of existence, in 2010.The school houses roughly 2300 pupils aged 5 to 18. Admission to the school is based on a form shortlist and an interview. Every year in April, the school admits pupils aged 5 in Preparatory and aged 6 in Grade 1. SXCS pupils take the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education in tenth and twelfth Grades. Pupils are offered a choice between Commerce or Science subjects in eleventh and twelfth grades. The school previously offered the Madhyamik but it does not offer it anymore because of the diminishing popularity of the Madhyamik among pupils. Many of the school's pupils are children of alumni.The School, whose alumni range from the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore to the former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, is considered to be one of India's best schools.HistoryThe school was founded in 1860 by the Jesuits, an all-male Catholic religious order formed by Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Armageddon: The adventure Club of IIM Calcutta aims to provide a platform for the students to follow their passion for adventurous activities in/out of the campus. The club also tries to raise/maintain the fitness level of participants through regularly held events.

In the field of Education- President Mr. Sankar Biswas thought deep into the matter of modern education system and its growing versatility in the country. But he does not believe in an education system which cannot be applicable to children and students equally without any discrimination of caste, creed, community and faith or religion. The Mission liked to demonstrate a culture or system in the modern education particularly English medium curriculum in a way so that all get chance of studying in the school from all communities and classes disregarded of high or low, poor or rich. Mr. Biswas equally felt that in reality, studying in English medium, the future of the students are more exposed to the world for their knowledge culture and to discover the truth of life in running a life through multi cultural environs of the world yet they deserve to know and exploit for development of their own careers and to compete in the global job market. Besides, Ram Mohan Mission being at par with ideals and vision of the Bharat Pathik Raja Rammohan Roy in the imposition of English in the academic curriculum during his time so that knowledge of science of the student takes to perfection through English knowledge because of almost all books on science for higher studies are composed in English language. Kalikrishna Girls' High School, is a high school for girls on the town of Barasat near Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. The school has class I to XII. It is one of the oldest girls' school in India. Kalikrishna Mitra, with the support of Nabinkrishna Mitra and Peary Charan Sarkar established the school in 1847, the first non-government girls’ school, run by Indians.
