Campus school is an English medium, senior secondary co-educational school. It was inaugurated on November 14, 1971 by the then Finance Minister, Smt. Om Prakash Jain. At the outset, the school started functioning a month before its inaugural ceremony with a team of eight teachers who were entrusted with the responsibility of establishing various departments. By the time of inauguration of the school, two more teachers were appointed and the school started functioning with 107 students on rolls. A school Advisory Committee under the Chairmanship of Shri A.L. Fletcher with Shri L. Ramachandran, the then Registrar, as its Member Secretary, was formed to frame the policy and guide the working of the school. Mrs. S. Verma, a teacher with a wide experience in teaching was appointed the first Principal in December 1971, but had to leave the school shortly.
Campus School was put on the CBSE map when it got affiliated to it in July 1972 with school code No. 04035 and affiliation No. 530002.
The first batch of students passed All India Higher Secondary Examination in March 1977. However, due to implementation of 10+2 pattern, the school was reverted to Secondary stage. The senior secondary classes of +2 pattern were initiated in July 1983 and its first batch passed in the year 1985.
In the year 1978, an additional wing was added to the school. It was inaugurated by the then Vice-Chancellor. Later in the year 1985 another wing was added and its foundation stone was laid by the then Vice-Chancellor, Shri L.D. Kataria.
The school attained regular affiliation with CBSE (+2 level) during the tenure of Shri J.P. Kriplani. Since then the school has made phenomenal progress.
