Chikmagalur (Kannada: ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಗಳೂರು, Cikka Magaḷūru) (also known as Chikkamagaluru) is a town located in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located in the foothills of Mullayanagiri range, Chikmagalur is famous for coffee and is known as the 'coffee land' of Karnataka. It has an international school called Ambar Valley and a star resort called The Serai. Chikmagalur is famous for its hill stations.
The nearest airport to this town is Bajpe international airport of Mangalore (160 km). The more awaited Chikmagalur Railway line has been completed and a trial run was held on June 17.This railway line will be connecting the city to Kadur The station is expected to inaugurate this year.
