V O Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi
V. O. Chidambaram College was established in the year 1951 by the founder-secretary, Kulapathy A. P. C. Veerabahu. Our founder-secretary started this college to open up the portals of higher education to the economically and gender wise discriminated sections hailing from the backward areas of southern districts. In 1940's, Thoothukudi did not have any higher educational institutions. As a result of the tireless efforts made by our founder-secretary, the V. O. C. Educational society was started in 1947. He rendered his services to the society as a political leader too.
