100 years before, there was not a single school available for English learning within 30-35 km of greater Bongaigaon.In 1910 on auspicious day the station master of Bongaigaon at that time, Late Kiran Mitra Dev started to teach English to some students on the railway platform. In the long run as a result of that courageous start the Birjhora Minor School was established on 8 March in the year 1939 by the main sponsorship of Late Ratikanta Sharma, the manager of Bijni revenue state of tha time, Late Lakheswar sharma and Late Ananda Sharma.
